Sometimes, you might want to disable an established 2FA connection so you can enable a new one. Perhaps you’ve accidentally deleted the authenticator app, or you’ve lost the device with it on.
If you still have access to your current authenticator app, you can disable 2FA directly from your Pepperstone Crypto account.
If you still have access to your current 2FA
Step 1: Go to Security
- Log in to your Pepperstone Crypto account.
- Click the profile icon in the top-right corner and select Security.
Step 2: Disable the authenticator app
- In the Authenticator app section, click Disable.
Step 3: Confirm
- When prompted to confirm that you want to disable 2FA, click Disable 2FA.
Step 4: Enter your 2FA code
- Enter the current code from your authenticator app.
Step 5: Check the confirmation
- Once 2FA has been successfully disabled, a notification will appear in the top-right corner confirming:
“Authenticator app disabled”
Step 6: Set up a new 2FA connection
- You can now enable a new 2FA connection by following the setup process and scanning the QR code.
