Fortunately, in most cases there’s a simple explanation to this and it’s easy to fix. So if your 2FA code isn’t accepted, start by trying these steps:
- Make sure you’ve entered the correct 2FA code for your Pepperstone Crypto account. You may also have 2FA codes for other websites and accounts.
- When entering the six-digit code, make sure there are no spaces between the digits. Even if the authenticator app shows 123 456, always enter it as 123456.
- Make sure you enter the 2FA code within 30 seconds, or else the system will refresh and you’ll need to re-authenticate.
- If you’ve recently disabled your 2FA and enabled a new one, make sure that your old 2FA has been unlinked and that you are entering the new 2FA code.
- Try logging in using your browser's incognito mode.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try logging in again.
- Make sure your Google Authenticator app and mobile device software are up to date.
- Force-close the Google Authenticator app in the background on your phone, then restart the app and try entering the 2FA code again.
- Make sure the time on your phone is synced to the device you’re trying to log in from. On an Android phone, go to ‘system settings’ and check that ‘automatic date and time’ is enabled. If automatic date and time is not displayed, search for ‘date’ or ‘date & time’ instead. On an iPhone open the Settings app, select ‘general’ then ‘date & time’, and enable ‘set automatically’. If this is already enabled, disable it and re-enable within five seconds, then restart the phone.
