Important: Download Google Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play Store (free download) before proceeding.
Step 1: Go to Security
- Log in to your Pepperstone Crypto account.
- Click the Profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Security.
Step 2: Enable the Authenticator App
- Under the Authenticator app section, click Enable.
Step 3: Verify Your Identity
- You’ll be prompted to enter the SMS OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Set Up Google Authenticator
You’ll see a QR code and secret key on your Pepperstone Crypto account.
- Open the Google Authenticator app.
- Tap the + icon.
- Select Scan a QR code.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your Pepperstone Crypto account.
If you’re unable to scan the QR code:
- Tap the + icon in Google Authenticator.
- Select Enter a setup key.
- Enter the Account name and Secret key shown on your Pepperstone Crypto account.
- Tap Add.
Step 5: Get Your 6-Digit Code
- Once the setup is complete, you’ll see a new Pepperstone Crypto account in Google Authenticator with a 6-digit verification code.
The code refreshes automatically at regular intervals.
Step 6: Enter Your Authenticator Code
- Return to the Pepperstone Crypto website and enter the 6-digit code displayed in Google Authenticator into the Authenticator code field.
Step 7: Complete the Setup
- Click Next.
Step 8: Confirm Two-Factor Authentication Is Enabled
- Once two-factor authentication has been successfully enabled, a notification will appear in the top-right corner confirming:
“Authenticator app enabled”
