You can deposit Australian dollars (AUD) into your Pepperstone Crypto account using Bank Transfer or PayID.
Both methods are available through the Australian New Payments Platform (NPP) and allow you to deposit AUD directly from your Australian bank account.
Important: AUD deposits must be made from a bank account registered in your name. The name on your bank account must exactly match the name on your Pepperstone Crypto account. Third-party deposits are not accepted.
Before you make your first deposit
Before you can deposit AUD, you must complete your identity verification. Your AUD deposit details will only appear once your verification has been successfully completed.
Use a bank account in your own name
Your deposit must come from a bank account registered under the same name as your Pepperstone Crypto account.
Deposits from another person's account, such as a partner, family member, friend or employer, are not accepted and may be rejected or returned.
Check your deposit details
Always use the current deposit details displayed in your Pepperstone Crypto account.
We recommend copying the details directly from the deposit screen rather than entering them manually. This helps prevent errors that could delay your deposit.

How long does a bank transfer deposit take?
AUD deposits are generally processed instantly, 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. If your bank supports Osko/NPP, settlement typically happens within minutes. If your bank does not support Osko/NPP, the deposit may take 2 to 3 days.
Your bank may also apply additional security checks to transfers made to cryptocurrency platforms.
Your first AUD deposit may take longer
Your first deposit may take longer to arrive because your bank may perform additional security checks on payments to cryptocurrency platforms.
This is normal and is a security measure applied by your bank to help protect your account.
Some Australian banks may place a hold of up to 24 hours on transfers to cryptocurrency platforms. This hold is applied by your bank, not Pepperstone Crypto.
Future deposits may be processed faster once your bank has completed its checks.
Tip: If you are making a transfer to a new payee or from a new bank account for the first time, consider making a small test deposit first and confirming that it arrives before sending a larger amount.
Are there any fees for AUD deposits?
No. AUD deposits are free. Your bank may charge its own fees for making a transfer.
Is there a minimum deposit amount?
There is no minimum AUD deposit amount.
Are there any AUD deposit limits?
Pepperstone Crypto does not currently apply a deposit limit.
However, your bank may apply its own transfer or PayID limits. These limits are determined by your bank and may vary depending on your account and payment method.
Important tips when making an AUD deposit
Always use your own bank account
The bank account used to make the deposit must be registered in your name and match the name on your Pepperstone Crypto account exactly.
Third-party deposits are not accepted.
Copy your deposit details
Always copy the PayID, BSB and account number directly from the Pepperstone Crypto deposit screen.
Do not rely on previously saved details. Checking the details before every deposit helps prevent your funds from being sent to the wrong account.
Check the details before confirming
Some banks may display an account name warning when you add a new payee or cannot immediately confirm the recipient's account name.
This can be part of your bank's security or scam-prevention procedures. If the BSB and account number match the details shown in your Pepperstone Crypto account, you can continue with the payment.
Only proceed if you are confident that the payment details are correct.
My AUD deposit hasn't arrived
If your deposit hasn't arrived, try the following:
Check your banking app to see whether the payment is still pending.
If the payment is pending, contact your bank to check whether it has been placed on hold.
Confirm that the deposit was made from a bank account in your own name.
Check that you used the current deposit details shown in your Pepperstone Crypto account.
If this is your first deposit, allow additional time for your bank's security checks to be completed.
If your bank confirms that the payment has been completed but the deposit has not arrived, contact Pepperstone Crypto Support with your transaction details.
When contacting Support, provide the date, time, amount and sending bank, together with a screenshot or proof of the transaction where available.
My bank declined the payment
If your bank declines the payment, this decision is made by your bank and not Pepperstone Crypto.
Contact your bank to check whether:
You have reached your bank's transfer or PayID limit.
The payment has been placed on a security hold.
Your bank has applied additional checks to the payment.
Your bank has restricted the payment because it is being sent to a cryptocurrency platform.
I used the wrong bank account
If you accidentally made a deposit from a bank account that is not registered in your name, contact Pepperstone Crypto Support before making another deposit.
We may need to verify ownership of the sending account or arrange for the funds to be returned.
I used incorrect or old bank details
Always check the deposit details shown in your current Pepperstone Crypto account before making a transfer.
If you have already sent funds using incorrect or outdated details, contact your bank and Pepperstone Crypto Support as soon as possible.
Scam warning
Protect yourself from deposit scams.
Pepperstone Crypto will never ask you to:
Send funds to an external wallet to unlock, verify, insure or increase your balance.
Provide your password, PIN or two-factor authentication code.
Install remote-access software such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer.
Make a payment to an account that is not shown in your Pepperstone Crypto deposit screen.
Provide funds to someone claiming they can guarantee returns or recover money you have lost.
If someone is coaching you through a deposit or asking you to send money to a different account, stop the payment and contact Pepperstone Crypto Support.
Frequently asked questions
Can I deposit AUD from someone else's bank account?
No. AUD deposits must come from a bank account registered in your own name, matching the name on your Pepperstone Crypto account.
Can I deposit AUD on weekends or public holidays?
Yes. AUD deposits are generally processed 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. However, your bank may apply its own processing or security checks.
Why is my first deposit taking longer?
Your bank may apply additional security checks or a temporary hold to your first deposit to a cryptocurrency platform. Some Australian banks may hold these payments for up to 24 hours.
Do I need to add a reference when making a deposit?
You can enter your full name in the reference field for your records. Adding a reference is optional, and your deposit will still arrive safely if you don't add one.
What happens if I enter the wrong reference?
Your deposit should arrive safely if you enter an incorrect reference or leave the reference field blank.
Is PayID faster than bank transfer?
PayID is designed for fast payments through the NPP. Both PayID and bank transfer can be processed quickly, but the actual processing time depends on your bank and any security checks it applies.
What should I do if my deposit is still missing?
First check the status of the payment with your bank. If the payment has been completed but has not reached your Pepperstone Crypto account, contact Pepperstone Crypto Support with the transaction details so we can investigate.
